Common Questions

How do I record a voice note?

Open the Home tab and tap the mic button to start recording, then tap it again to stop. Traced transcribes it automatically and saves it to your Thoughts inbox.

Where is my data stored?

Entirely on your device. Traced has no account and no server of ours — your notes, recordings, and folders never leave your phone.

What happens if I delete the app?

All notes and recordings are permanently removed, since nothing is stored anywhere else. If you want a backup first, use Settings → Data Export / Backup.

What does Traced Pro include?

Unlimited folders and subfolders for deeper organizing, plus every future Pro feature — for one one-time payment. No subscription, ever.

I already bought Pro, but it's not unlocked here.

Open Settings → Traced Pro → Restore Purchases. This restores any past purchase tied to your Apple ID at no extra charge.

Does Traced send my notes anywhere?

No. Your notes stay on your device. Voice notes are transcribed using Apple's built-in speech recognition, which is the only part of the process that can involve Apple's systems — Traced itself never transmits your notes.
