Traced — Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 9, 2026

Traced is built on a simple principle: your thoughts stay on your phone.

What we store — and where

Everything you create in Traced — voice recordings, transcribed text, notes, titles, and folders — is stored only on your device. Traced has no accounts, no cloud database, and no server of ours that your notes are sent to. We cannot read, access, or recover your notes, because they never reach us.

Because your data lives only on your device:

Speech-to-text

Voice notes are transcribed using Apple’s speech recognition built into iOS. Depending on your device and language settings, Apple may process the audio on-device or on Apple’s servers, as described in Apple’s privacy documentation. Traced itself never sends your audio anywhere.

Purchases

Traced offers an optional one-time purchase (Traced Pro), processed by Apple. To recognize your purchase and restore it on a new device, we use RevenueCat, which receives an anonymous purchase record (no name, no email, no note content). This is used only to unlock what you paid for — never for advertising or tracking.

What we don’t do

Permissions

Changes

If a future version of Traced changes how data is handled (for example, an optional AI or sync feature), this policy will be updated first, and any feature that sends a note off your device will be clearly labeled and opt-in.
